All too often, you are ready and able to start a new art project. But lack inspiration. Rather than 'borrowing' ideas from other artists, learn to dig deeper into your mind.
Copying a cool image is easy. You only need to surf Instagram or Tumblr to find a host of images that you can copy and paste into a folder for later use. And if you use the help of an overhead projector or the simple grid system for scaling an image, reproducing what seems a complex concept is actually quite easy.
When you pull off some great copies of things you have found off the net - in the beginning, its feels great, and the average Joe will congratulate you on a top job. But inside you know that the image was never really yours and it robs you of the true feeling of achievement where you can take that beautiful concept and promote it online telling the world "Hey this is mine!"
Its the difference between writing the riff and lyrics to "Stairway to Heaven" and learning how to play it from a cheat sheet. As artists we want the recognition and kudos of creating the concept rather than imitation.
So how do you find that inspiration to create something that is uniquely yours?
I find that mediation helps immensely.
It was when I was surfing Youtube for different meditation techniques when I stumbled across a video promoting a customized life success quiz.
Intrigued, I took the quiz and received the personally customized report. I was amazed how accurate it
was with my thought process and cleared up what was actually preventing me from success.

It was all about manifestation through meditation. And how you can not only manifest inspiration, but by concentrating on what your dreams and goals are, you can manifest these things too.
So after using manifestation to come up with some amazing visual concepts, I decided to use the same techniques to manifest clients to pay me to paint these murals for them.
The results have been so perfect, it has compelled me to blog about it.
Through using meditation to manifest my goals I am currently in the process of working on a 5 metre x 3 metre mural with new changes to my original concept that make the art piece even more impressive (many pictures coming to my gallery page).
And through the person who has commissioned the mural, I have made contacts with her colleagues with plans in the pipeline to re-create my new designs on large canvases.
There is no doubt that meditation is the path to enlightenment. Try out the same quiz that I did. Its actually fun to see how spot-on it really is.
